October is American Humane's Adopt-A-Dog Month® and the hugely popular Clifford The Big Red Dog® has signed on as official “spokesdog” for the monthlong celebration. Clifford is featured on American Humane’s Adopt-A-Dog Month posters and other materials that have been distributed to more than 6,000 shelters nationwide.
Millions of dogs are euthanized every year across the country because there are not enough loving homes. This is why American Humane’s Adopt-A-Dog Month was established. Celebrated every October, the tradition promotes dog adoptions from shelters and provides an opportunity to teach the public how to care for their pets responsibly.
